Operation Backyard Campout

A few weeks ago, we did a family campout in the backyard, inspired by their Curious George Goes Camping book. 

We started out the trip by "backpacking" around the block.

Checking their compasses and disagreeing about which direction to go...

Back at the "campsite", setting up the tent.

Hot dogs and marshmallows roasting on an open fire.

Getting a little too hot...

Dinner is served:  roasted hot dogs, beans over a camping stove and (later) s'mores.

The next morning:  bagels with oatmeal and hot cocoa, courtesy of the camping stove.

Ending the trip with another hike back out of the campsite.

Spring training extravaganza: The sequel

As I mentioned in my previous post, I've been hiding more spring training pics.  We went to another Cubs game in late March at their home field, Hohokam park in Mesa.  I didn't get as many images here, and they are all from the tailgate (we didn't last long at the game - naptime!), but still some good ones, especially of daddy and the boys.  As an added bonus, our nephew even took a family photo of us (crazy, I know)!

Did I mention it's very difficult to type with a cat between you and the keyboard?
